Spinning Through Time: The Making of Boomerang Drop
A tribal techno anthem inspired by a 42,000-year-old mammoth ivory boomerang from Poland. Boomerang Drop blends prehistoric echoes with modern rave energy — spin through time on the dancefloor.

Music has a funny way of bridging worlds — not just across countries and cultures, but across the vast canyon of time itself. When I stumbled onto the story of the Obłazowa boomerang, a 42,000-year-old mammoth ivory artifact discovered in Poland, I knew instantly: that’s a rave track waiting to happen.
Ancient Echoes Meet Modern Beats
Boomerang Drop started with a simple thought — what if the energy of a prehistoric hunt, the rhythm of survival, and the pulse of ancient craftsmanship could collide with modern dance music? I wanted to create a track that didn’t just make people move — I wanted it to connect them to the deep, primal roots we all share.
The inspiration came from that incredible mammoth ivory boomerang, found in a cave near Obłazowa, Poland. This wasn’t some modern toy — it was shaped by human hands over 40,000 years ago, designed to fly, to return, to survive. To me, that boomerang represented rhythm itself — spinning, arcing, always coming back around.
Building the Track
The backbone of Boomerang Drop is a steady 130 BPM, perfect for the dancefloor, with a tribal techno foundation that gives it both drive and mystery. I built the key in A minor, which always brings that moody, ancient energy to a song — dark enough to feel primal, but melodic enough to stay catchy.
The intro uses rising synth swells, tribal drum rolls, and huge reverb to mimic the vast, echoing space of a prehistoric cave. Imagine standing there, torchlight flickering off stone walls, feeling the pulse of something ancient beneath your feet.
The Lyrics: Dancing with the Ancients
Lyrically, I wanted the verses to tell the story — not just a rave anthem, but a journey:
“Forty thousand years, in the cave so deep,
Mammoth tusk spins, secrets to keep.”
It’s a nod to our distant ancestors — carving tools, shaping art, and yes, probably making music of their own. The Pre-Drop builds that energy, and when the Drop hits, it’s like the boomerang flying through the air — sharp hi-hats, looping bass mimicking its curve, layered with tribal percussion to bring that raw, primal energy to life.
Obłazowa Whispers
One of my favorite touches is the atmospheric Bridge, with its distant chant of “Obłazowa, Obłazowa.” It’s subtle — almost ghostly — but it roots the track in its ancient inspiration, like the cave itself whispering through the speakers.
When the second drop slams in, with gritty synths and rolling bass, it's not just another rave moment — it’s like the past and present colliding in a swirl of beats and sweat.
The Final Touch
I couldn’t resist adding the faint whoosh of a boomerang in the Outro, as the tribal drums fade away. It’s that reminder: from prehistoric Poland to the modern dancefloor, some rhythms never die — they just keep spinning.
